It's COLLEGE FOOTBALL Season!!!
So my next project is to decorate my door for the start of my alma mater, Texas A&M University's, season opening football game as part of the SEC. But, I live in Oklahoma, and anything Aggie related is very hard to come by. So, I decided to improvise and make my own decorations. (NCAA: please take note that I do NOT sell these decorations. They are for personal use ONLY.)
Here is the finished product (minus wire that will be glued to the backs):
Take a look at the video:
Supplies Needed:
Foam Underlayment (from Lowe's)
Computer
Printer
8.5 x 11 inch 3M label sheets
Mod Podge for paper
Foam Brush
Scissors
Xacto Knife
Modge Podge Super Hi-Shine top coat spray (if desired)
Floral Wire
Hot Glue & Glue Gun
Here are the written instructions, step-by-step.
Step 1: Print off desired design onto label paper.
Step 2: Cut away the excess paper.
Step 3: Remove the sticky back from your design.
Step 4: Apply the "sticker" onto the foam underlayment.
Step 5: Press the paper down firmly, and use a brayer to help get out any air bubbles trapped underneath.
Step 6: Cut away the excess foam underlayment.
Step 7: Use a SHARP Xacto knife to cut around the image.
Step 8: Apply a light coat of Mod Podge (the type for paper) on the decoration. I start by coating the edges, then I work across the image with my strokes going vertically. Let it dry.
Step 9: If desired spray a coat of Super Hi-Shine Mod Podge to the decoration. Let dry. Not necessary, but I thought, "Why not? I like shiny."
Step 10: Hot glue floral wire to the back of the decoration. And you're done!
Visit me tomorrow and see how it all comes together on my door!
Thanks for stopping by!
Take time to "Prettify Your Life"!!!
Love, love, love it! I always have a hard time finding Aggie decorations and now I have an alternative! Thanks for posting! Whoop!
