This Vacation is for the birds!

So, I HAD planned to put up my Memorial Day doorscape before leaving on vacation; however, this happened.

What you can't see is that there are five or six baby birds in that nest, just opposite of my door.  As I attempted to take down my Mother's Day doorscape decor, I got dive bombed by SEVERAL aggressive birds. It must've not only been Mommy and Daddy Bird but also Grandma and Grandpa Bird and the neighbor birds.  I actually screamed.  SOOOOO, I am not about to risk getting on a ladder, being treated like the control tower in Top Gun with daredevil bird fly bys, get freaked out and fall off and break a leg.

This is the second or third year we have allowed the Bird Family to do their thang...but this is the LAST.  After these baby birds fly, fly away, the nest is getting torn down and a fake owl or some other bird of prey is getting placed up there to persuade the Bird Family to move on down the road.

My husband and I will be in Maine next week, so hopefully the family will be gone when we return.  As you can see this one baby bird looks like he's ready to get away from the rest of his siblings.

So, I am taking a little break from blogging and spending some quality time with my man.  I will resume the Giveaways in June.
