Today PYL is featuring crafter Mary Harvey. Here was her wreath entry for the Sugarplums and Snowmen Wreath Contest.
Now take a moment to get to know a little about Mary by reading her "Connecting with the Crafter" interview with PYL.
What's your name?
Mary Harvey
Where do you live?
Mount Vernon, Illinois (although born and spent most of my adult life in Green Bay, WI - GO PACKERS!)
What was the inspiration for your wreath entry in the contest?
Loved the idea of red and lime green together. Adding a metallic ribbon was so much fun. You can never have too much glitz and glam!
What/When did you start crafting?
Started just a few months ago when I accidentally ran across a tutorial for deco mesh. I fell in love! So many ideas in my head that I'll be crafting with deco mesh for a very long time.
Where's your favorite place to find craft supplies?
There's a store in Green Bay, WI called Taylor Creek. They are a craft supply store as well as a gift store. So many different florals, etc. especially at Christmas time. I've never been to a store that even came close. Looking forward to my Thanksgiving trip so that I can come back home loaded and ready to craft.
Tell us about your crafting space--spacious crafting suite or I craft like a nomad--constantly on the move to the best space available at the time!
I've taken over the dining room and sometimes flow into the kitchen area. Hard to make meals with glitter everywhere. And my dog is getting a little tired of wearing glitter . . . Thinking about taking over one of the spare bedrooms . . .
What's your favorite occasion to craft for?
Christmas, Christmas, Christmas!
Besides crafting, what other things do you like to do?
I belong to a couple of local musical groups; singing and hand bells. Love to garden and read. Also spend as much time as possible with all my grandbabies - we'll have five by Christmas time this year!
And these are just for fun:
If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
Silver - it glitters!
Coffee or Soda?
Both; peppermint mocha coffee or Diet Pepsi - my two addictions.
And finally, Tis the Season:
“Miracle on 34th Street” or “A Christmas Story” or “Christmas Vacation”?
A Christmas Story. That's a holiday tradition for my family.
